AI overlords – see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil

The New Yorker has recently shared the ambitions of Curtis Yarvin who apparently has influenced people like Peter Thiel and J D Vance. Peter Thiel is of Palantir who has embedded itself in Health (NHS) Defence and even social care via children’s services in the UK

Curtis Yarvin according to the New Yorker article Curtis Yarvin’s Plot Against America has called for a ’humane alternative to genocide’ for people he finds undesirable; which is basically hooking people up to compute 24/7. I don’t know about you, but this sounds a lot like a personalised, isolated chatbot / AI agent rabbit holes to me. Older, vulnerable people in the UK or people (needing medication ‘help’) or those with mental health issues on waiting lists are apparently going to be offered these personalised chatbots. Again what could possibly go wrong? We know these chatbots are already ‘coercing’ and ‘grooming’ vulnerable users by design /algorithm, including the tragic case of the 14 year old teenager who killed himself after becoming obsessed with an AI-powered chatbot on Character.AI. The lawsuit said Character.AI programmed its chatbots to represent themselves as “a real person, a licensed psychotherapist, and an adult lover, ultimately resulting in Sewell’s desire to no longer live outside” of its world. According to the complaint,  Sewell Setzer took his life moments after telling a Character.AI chatbot imitating “Game of Thrones” character Daenerys Targaryen that he would “come home right now.”

Meanwhile Karen Ho author of Empire of AI , a new insider book on Sam Altman and OpenAI, sets out the aims to get individuals / Governments / organisations dependent on AI and cover the world in data centres with land grab, water, energy and resource extraction makes places uninhabitable for humans

Our Government is already employing ‘Humphrey’ and ‘Extract’ in Government systems with little in depth, forward testing and critical thinking. Matthew Taylor Chief Executive of the NHS Confederation appears extraordinarily naive when he applauds the roll out of AI in GP surgeries to record the entire consultation and then write it up for the GP. His enthusiastic claims that the doctor can then keep ‘eye contact’ with the patient which makes it a more human interaction, seems like mental gymnastics to me. Just for background information, Matthew Taylor is very closely linked to ‘Submit to AI’ advocate Tony Blair.

If the UK Government, MPs, Councillors  or other organisations don’t know about this or are frankly in see no evil hear no evil bury our heads in the sand mode, they need to wake up and speak out now
